I think you should not touch any firmware of the chinese dreambox clone.
Sometimes this cause major problems which are hard to get fixed.

If you buy the genuine DM800HD u got the Dreambox warranty
If you buy the chinese clone u cannot be sure they will help u if u have problems.

Dreambox 800HD Clone

I've been working with clones for a few years now. I find them great. I flash the image then the correct BL, and all works fine.
Overheating happens with originals and clones, I use a laptop cooler and it's great. I did replace a fan in one with a fan from an old PC as the fan failed, other than that, I find clones good, and see no major difference. There are lots of patched images available.Sure it's a hobby, and we all need to dig in and learn

I was used klon dm800 last year. But remote control request was very slow. May be new clones are solved this problem.
