Thread: CCcam vs. Gbox

Hello everybody!

I am new on this forum, I have a local card (Digital+ spain) and I want to connect to my Debian server and share to my HTPC (Ubuntu+PC-Sat) and other people.

I have a dish viewing Astra.

Which is the best method to share? Gbox or CCcam?

Any recomendation?

I would say CCcam. Gbox is nice, but you can't block CCcam lines connecting to gbox very good which can use a redist of 7 again. So IMHO Gbox is not secure enough.
Personally I find CCcam more stable the Gbox, also reconnecting to peers works faster and more stable after some downtime.

My intention is to share my local card and get other "virtual" cards from other people. Is possible with CCcam?

Other question: Which is the official site of CCcam? Because I just found the binary on diferent forums, but no any official site. Is it open-source?

Yes that's no problem. CCcam can do everything Gbox does and even more. So ofcourse you can share cards. Even on further hops. At least if that is what you mean by "virtual cards".

There is no official CCcam site. The CCcam team does not want all the fuzz and maintaining a forum etc. etc. They just want to work and build CCcam and use several forums to get their idea's and to notice bug-reports.
The CCcam source is not public but you can use it for free.

The router firmware is OpenWRT.

CCcam, it's more stable
