Thread: Is it possible to use pcmcia slot,cam and card on cardserver ?

I have a newcamd cardserver and have had one for a few years.
Im wondering if someone knows if it´s possible to build a linux cardserver (newcamd,CCcamd,Gbox or any other kind) and use a laptop with PCMCIA slot and Conax/Viaccess/Irdeto cam to read a satellite card ?

Well,
Let´s say that a provider has paired a card with their own receiver. Then they make it possible to use the card with a cam in the Cam slot of the television but they supply and own the cam and they also pair the card with the cam. To be able to share the card, "all" you would have to do is to make it possible for the cardserver to read the card through the PCMCIA slot, be it usb PCMCIA or a built in PCMCIA slot of a laptop.
I´m not technically gifted, but I know that there are a lot of you out there who can do almost anything with a computer. Is this something that can be done ?

As far as I know pcmcia slots can not yet be used that way.
